Dr. Evi Hatziandreou

Dr. Evi Hatziandreou

Dr. Evi Hatziandreou brings a distinguished international career in public health, health policy, and innovation leadership to her role as Director of the Nao Program and its Scientific Board. A graduate of the Athens Medical School, she holds a joint Doctorate in Health Policy & Management and Epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health.

She has held academic posts at top institutions including Harvard University, Indiana University’s O’Neill School, and Hellenic American University, and has served as a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Dr. Hatziandreou has contributed her expertise across sectors and borders—in the U.S., U.K., Sweden, and Greece—holding leadership roles in multinational corporations (AstraZeneca, Interamerican/ACHMEA), public health bodies (CDC, U.S. Congress Office of Technology Assessment), and policy-making institutions.

Her work spans research, prevention, health systems evaluation, and innovation strategy, with widely published studies on cost-effective healthcare interventions and public health improvement.

Prof. Constantine Stratakis

Medical Geneticist, Endocrinologist, Precision Medicine Leader

Prof. Constantine Stratakis

Professor Constantine A. Stratakis is an internationally recognized geneticist, endocrinologist, and innovation leader with a distinguished career in precision medicine, translational research, and executive leadership. A graduate of the University of Athens Medical School with advanced training in pediatrics, endocrinology, and medical genetics in Paris and Washington D.C., he also holds two honorary doctorates for his contributions to medical science. He spent nearly two decades at the U.S. National Institutes of Health, where he directed the Genetics and Endocrinology Program and later served as Scientific Director of NICHD, overseeing a $200M annual budget and training more than 200 fellows worldwide.

Since returning to Greece, he has led Human Genetics and Precision Medicine at IMBB-FORTH, served as Chief Scientific Officer of ELPEN Pharmaceuticals, and founded the Hellenic Network for Precision Medicine in Molecular Oncology. With more than 800 publications and the discovery of several genetic syndromes, including Carney-Stratakis syndrome, he continues to advise global institutions and co-found ventures in longevity and personalized healthcare.

Prof. George Chrousos

Professor George Chrousos is an internationally renowned physician-scientist in pediatrics, endocrinology, and stress medicine. A graduate and valedictorian of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), he trained in medicine and pediatrics in Athens and New York, and in endocrinology at the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH), where he later served as Chief of the Pediatric and Reproductive Endocrinology Branch. He went on to chair the First Department of Pediatrics at NKUA before becoming Professor Emeritus and Director of the University Research Institute on Maternal and Child Health and Precision Medicine, as well as Head of the Laboratory of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the Academy of Athens.

Professor Chrousos pioneered research on the biology of stress, elucidating its effects from behavior to molecular mechanisms, and made landmark contributions to pituitary, adrenal, metabolic, and stress-related disorders, including major depression and autoimmune disease. With more than 195,000 citations (H-index >210), he is among the world’s most cited medical researchers and has received top honors from global societies, including the Fred Conrad Koch Award, the Bodossaki Aristeion Prize, and the Transatlantic Alliance Award.
